I'm looking at the mod and its files the best way to tell how good a mod runs its from its order and setup with files. The sound files is really different then many mods and not the best setup. Its very hard to find some files to look at so I have a Q.'s on the mod.

Is the core/bones of the mod fall down and sever go down?

If i re-did the sound files and put better order/setup will the mod not work?

Here is how most mods are setup (or at least most of the cod/cod2 mod makers here is an ex. for mp mod)...

main file--(I will list the sub foulders)

-fx
-images
-ui_mp
-weapons
-sound (-+ means sub foulder)

--+amb_elements
--+amb_emitters
--+ambient
--+Doors
--+Explosions
--+Footsteps
--+misc
--+voiceovers
--+weapons
--+whizbys

then each one can have sub foulders or the sounds listed. It makes it really easy to file stuff and to change items out.

So maybe HairyPotter can you help since you made the HP mod with the bones of this mod?

or i could do a try it the mod this way hmmm with this idea but about the mod makers should happen to do it this way and work backwads with there mod (1.1) is odd almost something under the skin.

is there away to rework the setup of how bg2 has it to make things easyer to find was my Q. above. I'm working on a civil war mod for this i'm mostly a sound modder and movie so i'm doing that right now. I may go to bgmod and look for some 3rd party skinners and stuff to help make the players since they would know a lot more of the HL2 coding then i do. But would you like to help me to make this mod add-on HairyPotter?

I think Valve set the layout of the files i stone really, as far as model / sound / maps directories. As far as making as "Civil war addon"; it's really a cool idea and all, but it's impossible. At least keeping the addon and BG2 compatible with each other. Unless it's just a few model and sound tweaks. Adding too much to the code will cause errors.

what happen if you pull something out and place it back in with something new? For say the player and place in civil war body for the player. I think the guns could be reskinned and re-sound but keep the bones of the guns the same. I'm going to talk to the dv of this mod but how you get your steam id to go and type on there froums?

You don't need a STEAMID to talk on the BGmod forums, at least it's not required.

If you were interested in making a Civil War mod, it would make alot more sense to start from scratch rather than make an "addon" for BG2. Seeing as how BG2 is out-dated and inefficient, and alot of code work would be required to make it a Civil War mod anyway.

I get the feeling that Battlegrounds has been slowly dying since Half-Life 2 as it is.  This Civil War mod idea sounds interesting to me, if you think it could fly.
